Review
Greenacres restaruant and wine store is probably the most impressive looking restaurant in Wexford Town. This purpose built bistro is part of the Greenacres Foodstore and Wine shop in the Selskar area of the town. On a large corner site it is a contemporary space behind glass walls. Large wooden tables are well spaced and there is plenty to look at while you browse, from the fine wines surrounding you to the artisan foods and kitchen goodies in the deli area.
There is also one of the largest wine lists in the country, nearly all of which have been hand picked by owner James O’Connor and Donal Morris who make regular trips, or perhaps pilgramges, to the finest wine producers in the world.
We recently had lunch there with another of Wexford’s fine chefs, Kevin Carley. We enjoyed an excellent roast lamb for me, while Kevin had the homemade Toulouse sausages. An imminent trip for dinner is on the cards, and we will be updating the review soon. In the meantime, we heartily recommend Greenacres; it is one of Wexford’s finest.
