Review
The Dáil Bar has become a firm favourite to both Galway residents and visitors alike with its timeless décor that is both impressive and comfortable at the same time evoking a relaxed warm atmosphere like your favourite local.
Situated on Cross St right in the heart of the cities Latin Quarter, it really is a beautiful bar to visit. The name The Dáil was chosen because of the literal Irish translation which is “The Meeting Place”. The name describes the friendly warmth of the bar perfectly.
The Dáil Bar is also a restaurant serving top class food at pocket friendly prices all day every day. The varied and enticing menu really does go above and beyond a traditional pub menu.
While keeping traditional Irish favourites like their Traditional Beef and Guinness Stew and Fish and chips they have also added a selection of Pastas, Salads and vegetarian options. Locally sourced seafood is also important to The Dail Bar and a large selection is offered throughout the menu and in the hugely popular daily specials! The menu also caters for those who want a lighter bite with healthy options and a large sandwich and wrap selection. We recently enjoyed their crab claw and seafood linguine.
The Dáil Bar is also a fresh vibrant venue for a night out, already one of the most atmospheric venues in the city. The bar has an extensive wine menu, fabulous cocktails and a large selection of world beers.
Award winning Cocktail Bartender Alan Glynn has helped to create a world class cocktail menu that exudes class and quality while keeping prices affordable , with cocktails starting at €5.95. With Live Music Sunday through Thursday and fantastic resident DJ’s on the weekend. At night there is a mixed crowd of locals and tourists, and it’s busy and fun without being loud and annoying. Nice place to finish off the night.
