The Morrell restaurant is located in the grounds of the stunning Palmerstown House estate in Johnstown, County Kildare and is fast becoming the leading fine-dining restaurant in the region thanks to its classically designed interior and Head Chef Ciaran Cunningham’s innovative style.The locally sourced produce is cooked with flair and passion and along with the excellent service and an extensive wine list combine to bring a unique dining experience. The head chef has over 18 years experience as a leading Chef. Ciaran trained to be a chef in Cathal Brugha Street in Dublin and went on to work in London, Paris, Germany and Switzerland in some of the top Irish and European restaurants and hotels - including Harvey’s Restaurant, with Marco Pierre White. Ciaran is an active member of Euro toques (European community of cooks) since 1999 and is passionate about the Euro toques ethos of sourcing locally produced and seasonal products.
His Sous Chef Colin McCord also trained in Cathal Brugha Street and went on to further his training in the Hotel Conrad in Dublin, the Savoy Hotel in London and in the Louis XV Michelin Star Restaurant in Monte Carlo. Colin has been Ciaran’s Sous Chef for the past 7 years - both in the PGA National Ireland and in the St. Stephen's Green Club in Dublin.
